The Metropolitan Police have paid me £10,000 in general damages with regards to the very serious misconduct of Detective Inspector Julian King and Detective Constable Phil Dial in which they:
- Both refused to watch CCTV evidence I provided them with, and never looked at text messages that showed Eleanor de Freitas had made a false allegation of rape.
- Both knew that Eleanor de Freitas had a history of making false rape complaints, but let her get away with it again and again.
- Detective Inspector King also breached the data protection act releasing my confidential information to the de Freitas family without my consent.

The officers are still under investigation by the IPCC and are facing a misconduct hearing at some point in the future. The outcome of that investigation is not yet known and that procedure is separate from my case against the police.
As well as receiving compensation from the police, it is possible that the officers will face disciplinary action if they are found guilty.

I'm truly sorry about what happened to you. I myself was once accused of harassing someone who I had rejected, and it's not a good feeling. Unfortunately, it seems current laws are too quick to consider men as potential rapists, and yet way too slow to consider that women may be lying for revenge...
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, it’s incredibly hard to get a prosecution for rape. I happen to believe Alexander’s account but as a victim of SEVERAL rape attacks, only one of which I complained about to work supervisors, I can honestly say the process I went through was beyond horrendous. I was shaking for two hours after. They actually asked me how long he took to come (I replied about a minute) and they said “So he wasn’t even very good at it.” I would never report an attack again, next time I’ll pay someone to break their legs.
